Freelance editorial content provider Andy Russell has been a journalist and story-teller for 40 years. He held senior roles at Archant and Eastern Counties Newspapers, including Eastern Daily Press night editor and Evening News assistant editor.
He has worked with advertisers and businesses – start-ups, sole traders, family firms and large, established companies. His commercial features and content marketing, with relevant, targeted keywords for better SEO (search engine optimisation), helps promote services, products and events.
Andy also specialises in bespoke content for the automotive trade due to his role as a motoring journalist for 29 years. His words, pictures and video work include new car tests and informative, educational editorial about motoring trends, topics and issues. He also works with local garages and main dealerships, building strong relationships, to build image, profile and business.
Starting as Evening News motoring editor, alongside his full-time post, he then also took it on for the Eastern Daily Press. He was instrumental in establishing a new full-time motoring editor role for Archant’s Norfolk and Suffolk newspapers, magazines and websites. As a result of the success, that role grew to providing a weekly motoring editorial and content service for special supplements across the media group. His work featured in publications from Norfolk to Devon also syndicated in glossy county magazines.

Now a freelance editorial content provider, his journalistic skills are helping businesses. He is creating editorial and pictures for websites, marketing and social media campaigns and printed material.
As well as cars and commercial vehicles, he also writes about motorcycles. A born-again biker, he completed a range of training, the most noteworthy passing his IAM Roadsmart advanced motorcycle test. He also passed the RoSPA advanced car test twice, achieving gold standard both times.
He is an active member of the nationally-recognised Southern Group of Motoring Writers, helping to run its website.
